On the 15th of January in the year 2022 CE, religion was extinguished. Across the world, mosques, churches, synagogues were all systematically destroyed; these ancient relics of a bygone era no longer necessary in a world run by science.

Of course the world is not run by science per se, rather, it is run by people who have great faith in science. This is, of course, a delightful irony, and one that they are really rather uncomfortable with.

However, with the removal of religion came also the total removal of the right to lie. Everyone understood that religion was a series of lies, designed to make you feel better - religious leaders more than anyone. In order to prevent a resurgence of religion, lying was outright forbidden. All claims had to be backed by research and empirical evidence.

Now this was not strictly adhered to. It is impossible to prevent human beings from lying to each other; it is as natural as breathing and, curtailed, would probably prevent relationships from forming at all. It is a sad truth, but apparently the ability to shout “Look over there!” and then run fast is all an animal needs to reach the top of the pile.

At this point, however, we must question what happens when it turns out there is a god. This will turn out to be the case; I can promise you that and, as the author of this piece, I would say my word is my bond.
